Winery

Holmberg Orchards currently produces fruit wines and hard ciders on-site at our farm winery. Our sparkling hard ciders are made in the English tradition: light, fresh and fruit forward. The fruit wines are crisp, clean and surprisingly sophisticated. Unlike traditional syrupy fruit wines, our off-dry fruit wines range from 0-3% residual sugar. Leave your expectations at the door!

Our first 2 acres of wine grapes were planted in the spring of 2010. We are excited to harvest Pinot Blanc in 2011. Pinot Blanc is a niche white grape from the Pinot Noir family, generally grown in Alsace. The Connecticut coast offers a climate well suited for the Alsatian whites; this also includes varietals such as Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Muscat and the Pinots. We are continuously planting and adding acreage as our crop rotation allows, so look forward to more fine whites in this style from the Holmberg Winery.

Visit the Wine Barn

We are open for tastings, Saturdays and Sundays 12-5, from May through early November. Tastings are $6 and include a ½ ounce pouring of each of our products. The souvenir glass is yours to keep! Please have proper photo identification ready.
